Allright, on the previous post I have told you the most scary and haunted places in Indonesia. But talking about haunted place without its resident, the ghost, is like making a sandwich without bread :D . So here we are now trying to explore the most scary and popular ghosts from Indonesia.

Most of them come from folks tales, while there is also ghost that has been "national myths" that believed exist on every culture, regions, and regions.

While its favorites place to stay is on a big and shady tree or some dark and moist place. Many horror story told that Genderuwo like to transform itself to a Man and make women pregnant. There is also many folks believed that Genderuwo is the wandering spirits from dead human who refuse to go to afterlife world.

It is said on 1986 year, there is a ghost in form of a headless Pastor who roaming around in the cemetery looking for his tomb. Kuntilanak believed as a ghost from women who dead while pregnant. On Melayu folks tales, Kuntilanak described as a beautiful women who often appears along with frangipani flower smells. Kuntilanak said choosing some spesific trees as place to stay like hibiscus tree, especially the one which leaning to side. Kuntilanak also said like to disturb pregnant women and babies. The Indonesia traditional tales believed to vanish Kuntilanak is by sticking a nail to its head.

That is the reason Suster Ngesot appears as a ghost who cannot walk and just sliding on the ground. It is terrific enough by just imagining it.

The Javanese traditional term told that Wewe Gombel is an evil spirit or ghost that like to kidnap kids who abandoned by their parents. The story told that Wewe Gombel is a spirit from a woman who dead by suicide because chased by people, where the people accused her killing her cheating husband. Another version said that Wewe Gombel ghost is called by the name because it often appears at Gombel territory, Semarang city. The unique appearance of this ghost is came from her big breast which has long shape and hanging around.

And now for the last one, there is a ghost that claimed as the most scary ghost in Indonesia, Pocong. People who believe the existence of this ghost assumed that Pocong is a protest manifestation from the dead whose their shroud is not untied when the burial process. And because of that, many people describe Pocong ghost appears by jumping. The most popular form of Pocong is described as straight faced with emotionless and empty holed eyes.
