Hey, besides good on arts, do you know that Indonesian people is also genius. So why Indonesia is left from other countries in technology if we have geniuses people? Only one word, it is Discipline.

Many Indonesian school kids and colleges had won many medals on knowledges olympics or competition. Say Phsyhics, Mathematic, Biology, or even on an international debate competition Indonesia has won many of them, or being in second place or third place.

And also there was a big monetary crisis occur on the 1998 year which had very bad impact on Indonesia economy. If just the monetary crisis was not happened, Indonesia now may will become one of greatest country in the world ruled both economies and technologies.

Like I said above, Indonesian people can compete with other countries if it comes to brain. But the weak discipline and lazyness is two of bad behaviour the Indonesia nations trying to solve now. The president Joko Widodo even made a special slogan just to put his attention to change this bad behaviour and mindset: "Kerja, kerja, kerja", if translated to english it will means "Work, work, and work".

But not for these 7 Indonesian men. They was doing hardwork, discipline, and determination to made inventions and discoveries which the world are already recognized them. They are proven when Indonesian could conquer their weak discipline and lazyness, and then they could rule the technologies.

Solar-Powered Cookers (Minto)

Started from a thought that every single fuels used on daily life will vanished someday in the future, a man from Madiun city named Minto has succeed to made the first solar-powered cookers / stove in the world. This invention was inspired by the fact that people on countrysides are too depend to woods as their main daily fuels to fulfilling their daily life. Minto then was motivated to make a stove or cookers using sun heat as the main fuels (energy).

He was succeed to focusing the solar energy and positioned reflector straight to the sun. By his invention he can make a liters of water to reach its boiling temperature using a 190 cm diameter reflector in 5 minutes. This invention also has got many awards from many educations institutions in Indonesia, including from two presidents, Soeharto and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Coral Reefs as Quake Cycles Indicators Theory (Danny Hilman)

Danny hilman, a geological Doctor who had taken study at Bandung Technology Institute and California Institute of Technology is a quakes researcher scientist. His capability is recognized by many communities. Living in Indonesia which has big chances of earthquakes, tsunamies, and volcano eruptions made him interested to study deeper on the geology.

Since 2000 year, Danny often stated his prediction about big earthquake which will took place on the western oceans of Sumatera island. On his theory that history of quakes can be known by doing research on the coral reefs which spread around the oceans of an island. From the micro atom shapes which shaped like a cowboy hat he found, he can know that the western oceans of Sumatera islands had experienced elevating and delevating on hundreds years periods in the past.

By researchs the shapes and layer structure of the coral reefs, he can know that Mentawai islands had experienced great earthquake at year of 300, 1360 and 1610. And also from the research, he can predict if same eartquakes will occur in a periods of time in the future.

Sedyatmo's name may still sounds unfamiliar for many common peoples now, but who knows from his intelligence and idea of creating a solid building foundation on top of a labile soil has been used on many countries.

Prof.Dr.Ir. Sedyatmo is come from Karanganyar city, Middle Java province, he is a civil engineering figures and also a scholars, practitioneers, scientist, and a civil engineering professor at Bandung Institute of Tecnology. As an officials at electric state companies, he had tasks to build high-voltage electric tower on a swamps area in Jogjakarta city. At that time, he are faced with the land structure which are softs and labile. Sedyatmo think hard to find more effective ways untill he came up with an idea to build the tower on top of concrete foundation and sustained with concrete pipes on the bottom. 

These concrete and pipes then unites and earnest soft soil with strength so it can be a strong tower foundation. And because of it, this system if translated to english it will have meaning "scribble's foundation". And for the next, this technology also used to build on a watery soils. Few of example places used this system is the runway of Soekarno Hatta International Airport and other hundreds of buildings around the world.

The Scribble's Foundation technology creation of Sedyatmo also has received patents in many countries.

Sosrobahu Methods (Tjokorda R Sukawati)

Around the 1980's, Ir. Tjokorda R Sukawati had received tasks to build a flyover on top of the heavy crowded Jakarta's traffic street. The professor who are from Bali then suggest an idea to build the "flyover poles" inlining with roads below of it.

Then after the poles is built and stands, the sides which will look like a "T" will be rotated to 90 degrees so it straighten and ready to added concrete road. He then used hydrolic system so the 180 tons of the concrete road can be rotated easily. With the effectivity of time used and minimum distraction the below street traffic get, this tecnology had got many praised from many circles at that time.

President Soeharto who came to saw the flyover creation then named the method discovered by Tjokorda R Sukawati as "Sosrobahu". Sosrobahu itself is a name of characters in the Mahabharata tales. This Indonesian son discovery then used in many countries. Few example on used of Sosrobahu Methods is the Seattle Bridge in USA, Philippines Metro Street and many more.

This invention had also got many licenses of patents from many countries, like Japan, Phillippines, and Malaysia.

23 Chromosome Theory (Joe Hin Tjio)

Through research at the Technology Institute in Sweden University, his discovery had broken the genetic experts which said the chromosome total is 48. He had succeed to count the chromosome number precisely after enhance the separating technique of human chromosome on preparations glass developed by a professor from Texas University, USA on 1961 year.

For half of century the sciences had told if human chromosome was 48 in total. Then Joe Hin Tjo discover a fact that human chromosome actually is has total of 46. This revolutionary discovery has also written on the Kandidovia Heredity Journal on January 19, 1956.

The airplane producen was didn't know how exactly the airplane body endurance when used, on the beginning of 1990's, the airplane trips accidents was occured a lots because the undetected damage on the airplane body. The endurance of the airplane body was hard to measured because the limited technology at that time. This dangerous weak spot usually located between the wings and the airplane body. Or between the wings and the engine. That is the element which often get shaken badly, is it when take off either landing.

Untill then, Mr. Habibie discovers how the dangerous weak spot works, the very detailed calculations, to the atomic calculations. On aviation, the Habibie theory then called as "crack progression. And it then made Habibie new nickname as "Mr. Crack". Based on this theory, the airplanes now is more safe. Not only reducing the airplane crash accident, but it also made easier and cheapier on the maintenances.

On aviation formulas, this discovery known as "Habibie Theory". By take advantages of this theory, the airplane passengers number could be increased and so the trips distance.

Not many people knows if the 4G internet connection you are using right now is an invention of an Indonesian professor, Prof.Dr. Khoirul Anwar. He come from Kediri city, East Java and one of well-known scientist in Japan. He is a graduation of Bandung Technology Institute studied electro technique. He then continued his study at Nara Institute of Science Technology in Japan.

This 1978-born young professor had discovered a faster communication method with smaller energy used and great increased in speed of data transfers. By the applies of this method could solve communication problems in big cities which has skycraper buildings either in mountains area. Because in the areas like those, the transmitted waves has longer bounces and delay.

This Khoirul Anwar's invention had received a best paper award in sciences category on Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineer Technology Conference in Taiwan, on May 2010. He then patented this invention and later used by big electronics companies in China and Japan.
