Haunted Places in Jakarta

Although Jakarta is a modern city and the capital of Indonesia, there is still many mystical things happen believed by the people. Some locations there said to have strong mystical powers. And here they are:

Rumah Pondok Indah (Pondok Indah haunted house)

Pondok indah is a name of one housing area in Jakarta. Around 80's there are a house in Metro street, Jakarta, which lived by 7 foreigners. One night a robbery tragedy happened to the house and all its inhabitants are killed, including kids and housemaid. And since that, the house was being haunted and empty.

Many residents then saw ghost appearance in the house. There is also many said the place is also become the devil nest. Because the scary popularity, the story of Rumah Pondok Indah was also being filmed few years ago. But now, the house is demolished.
Perlintasan Kereta Bintaro (Bintaro railroad crossing)

Bintaro Tragedy - On October 19 1987, happened the biggest train accident in Indonesia. The accident was killed hundreds of people. Untill now, it is often heard screaming voices begging for help either ghost appearance said who trying to find his separated body part.
Terowongan Casablanca (Casablanca tunnel)

Terowongan Casablanca is a tunnel which built on top of a land which was a graveyard long ago. And because of that, this tunnel is being hunted then. There is many strange accidents happened there. Jembatan Ancol (Ancol bridge)

One of most legendary ghost story in Jakarta is the beautiful ghost of Ancol bridge. The place is on a bridge at Ancol territory, North Jakarta, happened a rapped and murderred to a beautiful woman. Since that event, many local residents saw ghost appearance in form of a beautiful woman on the place. Because the popularity, this ghost story was adapted to a film and tv series.
Lubang Buaya
Lubang Buaya is a place where the Indonesian army general was killed viciously at the G30S/PKI tragedy long ago. It is said, untill now it is often heard screaming voices from the murdered victims.
Rumah Kentang
In a house at Pranpanca territory, South Jakarta is often smelled a strong potato smells. It is said that long ago there is a mother who was boiling potatoes in a pot. But she was negligent so that her little kid fell into the pot and dead boiled along with the dozens potatoes.

Because of the tragedy, it is often appear a misterious potato smells on nights around the house. According to Indocropcircle, many paranormals told that the potato smells was come from a Genderuwo (a kind of Indonesian devil) that exist on that house.

Bandung is a city with lots of mystical tourism objects. Haunted places is spread all over the city. Here it is some most scary and haunted places located in Bandung:

Kampus ITB (ITB University)

The university blocks which built since Netherland colonialism is indeed own many mysterious stories. Many ITB college students often saw ghost appearance on some locations like machine labs, west class, PAU, field, civil room, and others. The ghosts is also appears on many forms, there's faceless ghost, ghost who imitate our friend appearance, and others.

Other than inside the university blocks, the area around the university itself is also well known as scary place. One of them is Tamansari Street which filled with trees and said to be the nest of Kuntilanak (an Indonesian ghost in form of a woman). Around the Dayang Sumbi street is also often seen ghost appearance.
Rumah Ambulans (House with haunted ambulance)

In a house at Bahureksa Street there is an old ambulance covered by a tarpaulin. It is said that the ambulance is cannot be moved and often turn on the engine by itself on night. The ambulance said was once used to bring corpse of the house owner who dead by accident. But instead stayed at the hospital, the ambulance just always get back to the house by itself.
SMAN 3 dan 5 Bandung (Bandung Senior High Schools 3 and Bandung Senior High School 5)

Not only known as the best senior high school in Bandung, the school block of SMAN 3 and SMAN 5 is also known for its haunted part. It is said at the school which designed with Holland (Netherland) style is often seen a ghost appearance in form of a Holland girl. The ghost is often seen on a window on higher floor when night come.
Goa Belanda dan Jepang (Holland and Japan colonialism era heritage cave)

At region of jungle highway Ir. Juanda, Dago Pakar, there is two cave heritage from Holland and Japan colonialism era. The cave was a place where the prisoners and unobeyed workers being held and tortured.

Untill now, it is often heard voices of crying and painful said from the dead spirits there. Other than that, the visitors who visit the cave is forbidden to say “lada” (pepper) because it can insult the spirits living there. If it is said, then usually the person will be tranced by the spirits there.
Jalan Siliwangi (Siliwangi street)

Not so far from ITB university, located at Jalan Siliwangi, exist a legendary myth. It is said on year of 80's at the street there is a kid who died by accident crashed by a car there. It is said the kid spirit is often appears to find his lost doll when the accident happened there.

Lawang Sewu is an old building built since 1904. This haunted place which located in Semarang had been a military base on the Japanese colonialism era. At that time, the bunker was used as a place where Dutch people was tortured and killed. Because of that, it is often seen ghost appearance in form of Dutch soldier and woman.
SMA Tugu Malang (Tugu Malang senior high school)
This haunted school is located in front of Tugu Malang (the iconic statue of Malang city). It is said on that place is often heard sounds of footsteps like a marching soldiers. Other than that, on the school floor there is some brownish spotting like blood that cannot be cleaned. The strange things happened because the place was a tortured location on Japan colonialism era.
Gunung Merapi (Merapi mount)

Gunung Merapi is indeed well known in Indonesia from its dozens of mysteries. The mount which located at borders between Jogjakarta province and Middle Java province said to be the devil kingdom in Indonesia. One of most popular locations near there is Pasar Bubrah (Bubrah market) or also said by the local resident "The devil market". It is said often heard crowding voices on the market even when no one present there.

It is said on that place is often seen the appearance of Ratu Galuh (a queen from an ancient kingdom there) ghost who wearing Kebaya (one of Indonesia traditional clothes).
